Subj: [DR-L] Gregson Oboe Sonata

Hello fellow woodwittlers,
I have recentely come across and purchased a sonata for oboe that I knew
existed, but for some reason never really studied or even owned it:The Edward
Gregson Oboe Sonata. I sat down at my piano and began to play the accompaniment.
Before I knew it I had played all three movements...what a wonderful and
incredibley interesting piece. The harmonies are so wonderful. So of course, I
jumped online to see if there is a recording. I didn't have much luck. Does anyone
out there in doublreed cyberspace know of an existing recording of this
sonata? Any comments on the piece from those who have played it?

There is such a wealth of English composed music out there that has never
been recorded.....hmmm.......(lightbulbs and ideas!)
