I've used the "Tuning CD" for years. Many CD players have a repeat track
function, eliminating the need for a remote to repeat the track. A remote
is very useful if you wish to change tracks.

I would like to mention a program called "Slow Gold" (I have no commercial
interest in this program).

It allows one to break any CD up into little tracks you easily slow down
WITHOUT CHANGING THE PITCH. I use it to slow down a CD I have the oboe part
for to a speed I can handle, then gradually speed it up as I learn the
part. The program remembers each CD and how you broke up the tracks, so
the next time you put the CD in your disk drive your tracks are still
there. Also you can change the pitch, so if you wanted to play an EH part
on the Oboe or the reverse, you could do so, and speed it up or slow it
down etc.

For learning Jazz, you can't beat it. There's really no other way to learn
Jazz licks than listen and repeat. You can save individual tracks on your
hard drive, thus building a library of practice tracks It costs about $50.
