It is one of these: <http://www.music123.com/item/?itemno=112059>.
Actually, what impressed me about it most was not the range of features. All
the digital metronome/tuners do basically the same thing. But this one has a
very well designed set of buttons to control it. Some of the ones I looked
at had completely bizarre controls.
The controls are: one slider to control the overall function
(off/metronome/tuner/pitch generator) on one side, and a volume control on
the other. Then on the front there are two buttons and the wheel (as you can
see in the picture I link to above) that do everything you need to do in a
particular mode. For example, in metronome mode, the wheel controls the
tempo, and in tuning mode in controls the calibration (is you want something
other than A=440).
I work as a computer programmer, and spent a fair bit of my time designing
the user interface for computer programs. I know just how difficult it is to
get these things right.
Probably the worst criticism you could make is that it is not very small
(14cm x 6cm x 2cm), although it fits comfortably in one hand. And it fits in
my bassoon case, but if I was a flautist, it might be too big!
Tim.
