Very interesting to see the recent discussion of tuning - a subject almost
as controversial as vibrato! For my ensemble coaching I often us Wayne D.
Gorder's "Sound Training" published by Lidwig Music Co. in Cleveland, OH.
It has a score and part books (for any combo. of winds and strings) with a
collection of Bach chorales in various keys arranged in four parts in each
book. an explanation of tuning is given is each book with a more thorough
one in the score. Each part has an arrow above notes showing the direction
normally required to achieve good intonation. I heartily recommend this
collection. Dr. Gorder is a conductor at Kent State U in Kent, OH.
