Well, I've never done that, but the variations of pitch in Europe are
staggering. Germany is, I think, the winner being the sharpest. The
rest of us tend to be at 442-ish.

Good old human tooth is simpler. Just put the non-forked end on your
tooth and you get it vibrating straight through your head and you really
hear it loud and clear no matter what going on in the trumpet section.
None of is is normal anyway :-)
