I know I'll pay for this slip forever.
The temperament is to adjust the notes within the scale so you can play
in all the neat keys. The additional adjustment called stretch is
because the partials of piano strings are sharp of 'harmonic'. Y'all
know that, I do too. There are other adjustments you can layer on top
of it all, but those will do.
