I could play it twice a day 365 days of the year and I'd never get
enough.

I was lucky enough to be playing in the English Chamber Orchestra at the
time of the Charles Macherras recording of the ornamented version. It
changed my life and the way I went about looking at baroque music, and
music in general for ever.

It is because of the Messiah that the word "chastisement" is pronounced
the way it is - that's the way it fitted to the music although our
German,
oboist of a composer didn't know it was not how it was pronounced at the
time.

"Rejoice" in 12/8 - now that IS something!

I'm sorry you've finished :-)

Jennifer
