I was doing some research recently on the Wizard of Oz (my daughter was
trying out for a local production) and I discovered that there is a musical
theatre version (two actually) that are based on the score of the
movie. One uses a typical pit orchestra set up with woodwind doubling and
no bassoon.

The other http://www.tams-witmark.com/musicals/wizard.html uses a small
orchestra and does include a bassoon. Perhaps someone has played it and can
comment on it.
