After years of having the frustrating problems with bifocals and music
all mentioned here, I had laser surgery this summer (at the age of 59).
For me, this was heaven-sent. I still need glasses for reading music
(and reed making), but now the glasses are 1.0 diopter magnifiers found
in grocery stores. I can see the entire page clearly, from top to
bottom, and, after 50 years of wearing glasses of one sort of another,
I am largely free of that.
