Doublereed Archive - Posting 000027.txt from 2003/10

After endless adjustments of my music stand up and down to
try to find a good place to see, I started xeroxing my music at 125%
with high contrast, and making sure the practice room is well lit.
Carrying around big sheets of music is a nuisance, and I have to use
clothespins to keep the music on my stand, but generally I can see.
(The degree of fumbling around with clothespins and extra-large pages
would make this method impractical for orchestral playing.) Oddly
enough, people tend to speak to me slowly and loudly when they see
that I have large-print music.
