I, too, have my bifocals set to 30 inches for reading music, but I put that
on the top part. On the bottom (which is set pretty low in the frame), the
distance is set for 12-13 inches (for reed making). This, of course, leaves out
the conductor--he's slightly fuzzy in the distance, but clear enough to see
waving arms. I figure he's the most expendable. It works fine except when he
stoops way low to indicate soft passages, so when he disappears I just quiet
down considerably and keep going.

I tried trifocals, but then nothing worked well. Two out of three is not bad.
