Subj: RE: [DR-L] bifocals and reading music

I have music reading glasses. They are bifocals, and the line between
the distance vision and near vision portions is directly in front of the
pupil. Thus, without moving my head, I can look down at the music, or
up at the conductor (if I should ever want to do that!). The close
vision portion is set for reading at about 30 inches distance. I
recommend that when you go to the optometrist you take your instrument
and a folding music stand in order to demonstrate exactly what you need.

BTW, these glasses are also excellent for computer work for anyone who
needs them.
