Interesting. I tend to think of the sounds with more overtones
to be deeper and darker sounding and the tones with primarily
fundamental to be bland sounding, not bright. Maybe 'dark' vs.
'bright' is a function of the overtones to each other rather than
to the primary. Has anyone done a Fourier Transform analysis on
different oboist's sounds?

It'l also a matter of personal taste and preference. I tend to
like my coffee tasting curiously like tea sweetened with honey.
