I also read Jennifer's article about Matthew Peacemen's CD. I really liked
the opportunity to listen to selected examples along with Jennifer Paull's
very readable comments. As usual, Jennifer Paull is a must read.
I found that the Britten Metamorphoses after Ovid was a very valuable
teaching tool for me, illustrating how there are many other beautiful ways
to play a phrase. Perhaps not Britten's best, but wonderful music for solo
oboe.
