Hello Herb:

I own both a Fox Pro case and a Gewa oval case and ill try to share
as many thoughts about both of them as I can.

The Gewa oval case is a very compact case and is wonderful for traveling, It
is lighter then the fox case and found it to have very good storage space,
The problems I had with it is the blocking, when you order a Gewa case most
of the time you get a case and a bad of blocking parts, It is usually not
blockled at all, second of all I do not like how the wing joint sits on top
of the long joint as this is very prone to cause damage. The price is a bit
questionable i have seen them range beteween 400-500 dollars.

The fox case i like because it is protective as well as attractive in
appearance. it comes partially blocked and hold all the joint very well, the
problem with this case was size and weight it gets awfully heavy and not all
airlines will let me take it on as a carry on. the other problem i had was
with the shoulder strap the case is so heavy that sometimes the strap rings
on the case would bend fortunately i havent had it fall on me but it makes
me wary of using the shoulder strap sometimes.

The Bam case i will be getting familiar with soon as a Moosmann bassoon is
on the way for me to show and demo to people and once ive looked at it i
will give my thoughts on that as well.

As you see both cases as similar as they can be both have their pros and
cons. I hope this helps in your research.

Best Regards,
Chad Taylor
