Hi Sameer,
I have a very old booklet (1940) published by Selmer Co, Elkhart Ind.
called "how to make double reeds" that describes French style reeds It may no
longer be available since it is so old and Americans play mostly long scrape
reeds.
In addition I have found several web sites that I give to my students
in reed-making classes that have speeded up their learning process
considerably. Obviously a 1 to1 lesson from a good reedmaker is best, but a lot can be
learned from these web sites.
Excellent on long scrape reed is Martin Schurings site:
http://www.public.asu.edu/~Oboe/Reedguide.html

Also try http://www.yefchak.com/reed/intro_page.htm

Reed fixing: try
http://www.wiu.edu/users/mfmbe/studio/reedmaking/reedfixing/reedfix1.html

A search on google.com under oboe reedmaking may give others.
