Dear Geoff,

The book you mentioned "The Oboe Reed Book" by Jay Light is available at forrestmusic.com and I have already ordered it. But thanks for yoru generous offer!!

I was wondering if there is a book that shows how to make French Style Reeds. Do you know any???

Regards

Sameer Al-Abdullah

Dear Sameer - a book you might find helpful - I did (and I
came from a

totally different scrape to this one, and had to teach myself)
is "The Oboe

Reed Book" by Jay Light - I am not sure where you can
purchase it from

but its published out of Drake University in Iowa USA. It
advocates one

of the American Scrapes around, but the information contained
within, and

with a lot of practise, will see you producing servicable
reeds. There

are many other books out there, and a web search will reveal
heaps, but I

understand your isolation, frustration etc, so the book I
mentioned might

help. If you cant get a copy, let me know and I will send
you mine if

all else fails.

All the best

Geoff Pearce
