I doubt very much that he was assuming to learn oboe reed making in a few
easy steps. He just needed somewhere to START!

There has been some talk about videos and how they are clearly not as
effective as having 1 on 1 private lessons in oboe reed making. I was
wondering if someone would be able to advise certain books and/or videos one
could buy in order to (merely) *start* learning how to make reeds. The
reason I ask this is because, for those students who cannot afford 1 on 1
music or reed lessons, yet still want to learn how to make reeds, this is
the only viable option.

Also, thanks for your help David L.! Although, I'm sure it just skims the
surface of the art of reed making, it still is an inspiration to start
making one's own reeds!
