Hi,
Yes, I've done this with Soundforge and it works very well. The
limiting factor on sound quality will most likely be the vinyl
source as opposed to a lesser quality sound card. You can even
get a pop and click filter plug in for Soundforge to remove noises
created by the vinyl medium.
