Subj: [DR-L] bassoon reed tip profilers
Date: Thu, 7 Aug 2003 00:15:35 -0400

Dear Attentive List,

I have made bassoon reeds for myself and students mostly for 20 years or so
now.

I am curious about the reed tip profilers. Would anyone who has experience
with these machines tell me what they think.

My immediate questions are:

Are they easy to adjust? Do the manufacturers provide easy to follow
directions on how to adjust them? I am looking at purchasing the Rieger or Reeds'n
Stuff machine.

What are the advantages that players have discovered using such a machine?

Any additional information anyone wants to include would be appreciated.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely,

Elisabeth Romano
