the cheap seats tend to be filled with the people who get it. the caste system in an orchestra hall, however, is no different than less subtle divisions of the proloteriat found in baseball parks. i live a couple of miles from arlington race track, now owned by churchill downs. there the architecture supports the philosophy of separation between the $0.50 ticket people ($6.00 today) and the monied set, who buy memberships to sit in the restaurant above the crowd. t is called the millionaire club. in the case of the horses, i believe more expertise resides in the lofty seats.
