Friends,
I am delighted to report that I have made the finals of the Star Trek
Convention Talent Search. This means that on August 2nd, I play at the Las Vegas
Hilton, (Nevada, USA) in front of a large audience of Star Trek fans and actors
from the various series.
I'll be improvising "Fantasie on Themes from Star Trek" for solo oboe.
There are 8 finalists competing for a gift certificate prize of $1000.00
worth of Star Trek memorabilia. The prize is unimportant to me. What matters is
playing the oboe in that place for that audience.
I've already gotten a few terrific quotes including "She keeps taking the
oboe to places its never been before".
I'll keep you informed. Hopefully, I'll be able to post photos on my website.
