Hello, Mr. Searing and Double Reed List.
I'm sorry, but I am weeks behind in answering
E-Mails, because I'm juggling so many projects,
all at the same time.
What I'm looking for is someone who owns a
Heckelphone and can read-through, if not also
perform and premiere the Heckelphone transcrip-
tion of my new Bass Flute work:
"Sonata for Bass Flute and Piano"
(May 2003, 4 mvts., 25 min.)
I Allegretto 4' 55"
II "Aulos" Phrygian Variations and Stretto
Fugue 8' 35"
(It is my unique custom to make the Slow
Second Movements of my newer, 4 move-
ment Accompanied Sonatas, so that they
can be used as Separate Pieces, and be
accompanied either by piano, or string
quartet with a string bass, or full String
Orchestra, as a Konzertstück. It contains
one of the very few Stretto Fugues in all
music history, and the FIRST one to work
in Original, Inversion, Retrograde-Inversion,
and Retrograde, ALL AT THE SAME
TIME!)
III Scherzo 5' 52"
IV Arch Form 5' 25"
total: 24' 47"
I am transcribing the Solo Part of all 4
movements to:
Standard C Flute, Alto Flute in G;
Oboe, Oboe d'Amore in A, English Horn
in F, Bass Oboe (or Heckelphone);
and even Clarinets in Bb, A and C.
The Heckel Company in Germany is interested
in promoting it, but I need for someone to record
it for them to hear. The Counterpoint in this work
breaks several records in world history, so it will
likely become a famous work in the literature.
(I was well trained in Chromatic Modal Har-
mony and Counterpoint 30 years ago, got out of
music for several years, and have only been com-
posing heavily for the last 9 years. Since then I've
already been the Topic of an Entire Dissertation,
am getting my works studied and performed in 20
countries around the world, mostly in conserva-
tories, plus I was nominated for a Pulitzer. There's
a chance that maybe my music will be noticed in
history.)
However people who only like Traditional Key
Signature Tonality, (like the Saint Saëns, Poulenc,
etc.) will be disappointed, as I don't use 1880's
styled harmonies. My Harmonic Style is akin to a
blend of Shostakovich, Prokofieff, Hindemith, and
Walton, so if you aren't fluently familiar with the
major sonatas, concerti, chamber works and sym-
phonies of those guys, you won't like my music
either.
Please contact me directly if you are interested
and/or can help.
