I'm sorry, this is NOT TRUE.
I am personally acquainted with several plastics factory owners, private
individuals (in this case from Hong Kong, but also there are lots of
Taiwanese owning/running factories in China).
There are something along the lines of THREE THOUSAND factories in
Guangdong province, supplying everything you can imagine all over the
world. In fact I read a factoid yesterday, that if Walmart were a
country, it would be the PRC's 8th largest trading partner.
The factories employ mostly migrant workers from the hinterlands who
come and work for a few years and then go back. The conditions are not
great, in fact they are often quite bad.
I am no fan of the government of the PRC, but please, blanket untruths
like yours do not help.
