What a fun topic- I'm sure we'll all want a copy of this book.
I am fortunate to have a furniture maker for a husband, so I have a custom
made studio room in my house complete with reed making area and shelves
which hold cane, gougers etc.
My father gave me a huge old roll top desk with a million drawers, which
looks like wood, but is actually painted metal. It's perfect for all the
assorted tools and "stuff" we tend to collect. My husband hates it because
its ugly, but someday he'll build me a desk to replace it with that is
practical and beautiful ( and has a million drawers).
I already have a list of students who want to take the behemoth when I 'm
through with it !!
It's important to know that the floor will always be covered with slices of
cane and shavings, and there will be bits of thread tied to any stable thing
in an oboe players house!
