Mel & List,

My husband is rather compulsive & is forever vacuuming up reed dust from my
little corner of the kitchen. I never even notice the dust! He has stopp
ed removing the thread from the kitchen chairs though. Several chairs now
have a beautiful, multi-colored fringe hanging from the spindles.

you make your reeds? kitchen, bath, music room, potting shed, root cellar?

Well, in my case, just about everywhere. I've got a designated reed-maki
ng desk in the basement, but I seem to prefer my wife's desk in the office.
Assorted reeds can always be found in the kitchen, living room, and family
room as well. It's actually a topic of "discussion" in our family...might
be the basis for a good murder mystery!
