Dear Bassoonists,

The bassoon that I play from my school is a nice intermediate Renard 222
and it has a major flaw. It's 40 cents sharp and I can't figure what's
wrong with it. I've tried adjusting some of the tuning screws and it
stayed somewhat in tune for about five minutes. I don't know what to do.
Plus, low notes from F and below respond rather sluggishly, especially
when I get to C. It takes several seconds for the note to finally
stabilize and they won't work very well at all when I tongue them.
Please, any advise would be appreciated.
