Rusty rods. Apply some key oil and work the keys. Repeat for a while. It
could be rods other than the firstly obvious ones, or they may be bent...

Subject: [DR-L] english horn out of adjustment

Hi, I've rented an english horn from a local university for an upcoming
concert. It turns out that the low C and low C# keys stay closed when
pressed. The spring looks like it's seated properly. Anyone have any
ideas? Thanks,
Jenn Hunter
