Hi Shawn,
It'd be great if there were a music lending library; some universities have music to borrow.
Although we're not students, I have a trio with oboe (on lead), violin or viola (on second, most of the time), and cello on the bass
part. My cellist is a high school student who plays with our syphony. We use music from Last Resort Music (they have a web site).
The books are $16 each (plus shipping), which isn't a lot; I'd suggest you get at least two books so you have a good repertoire
base. You can see the table of contents at the web site. I think these are fine arrangements, but have heard that the quartets are
not as good.
It's not an unusual combination. We do get wedding gigs, so this might be a good time for you to start getting word out you are
available (once the group is formed) so brides can plan for their spring and summer ceremonies.
Let us know how you come out on this venture.
Best regards,
Miriam

Subject: [DR-L] Starting a Chamber Ensemble

professional playing, in the way of playing and forming our own chamber groups (i.e. quintets, etc.....as like wizards, borealis
Quintet, quartetto Gelatto, etc..).

about doing this on a limited budget (or not budget at all for the start?)

time to try to form my own "unique" chamber group. Any ideas for how to go about doing this, good instrumental (and unique)
combinations, etc...that go along with the forming of such a group are greatly appreciated.
