hello Doublereeders,
Just returned home from an amazing performance by the Cincinnati Symphony
Orchestra. Sorcerer's Apprentice, Prokoviev Romeo and Juliet Suites 1 and 2,
and Bolero.

William Winstead on Bassoon.....(like a big long concerto for bassoon! :-))
sounded incredible and amazing. The CSOs new English hornist, Chris Philpotts
also sounded incredible.

To the critics.....they say that symphony audiences are dying and are getting
older and older. While this may be true for the majority, it was an amazing
feeling to walk into symphony hall this evening and see the hall almost sold
out and the crowd had a large large number of a younger generation. Music
education is doing its job! Atleast in this part of the state :-)

Shawn
