Dear Jane,
I have been using a violetwood Loree for the past 5 years. It cracked betwe
en
and below the trill keys in the first couple of months, and was pinned. Sin
ce
then it has been crack-free. After a LONG break-in period (the tone didn't

carry well enough to use in a 3200 seat auditorium for almost 2 years!) it

now has excellent resonance and a tone I would characterize as "mellow and

complex," with well-balanced highs and lows to the sound.

Don't give up on yours!
