If you can balance your bassoon without touching it you will solve this
problem. Never hold up your bassoon with your left hand. You can try using
a Guitar foot stand for your right foot (or a block of wood or whatever).
Lift your right foot up (including your right hip)and down untill you find
the correct balance point. Once you find it you will never be sorry. The
bassoon will seem weightless. Lawrence Rhodes...
