The price is not set at 30k for a Heckel. I just saw someone get his for
21k. They played the Euro and paid a lot less than was paid a few years
ago. You pay at the end of building process and pay the price in their
local currency then. If you start early trading the currency that Heckel
uses you can indeed get a great buy on a great bassoon. However. The
current Fox and Moosman bassoons play well also. Steven Paulson just
switched to a Fox and IMHO sounds as good as ever. He seems very relaxed
with this new instrument. Stay away from less expensive bassoons of any
make. You will never be sorry buying great bassoon. A used bassoon is
tried and true and will change less than a new one so you know what you have
