Dear clair subscribers,
Sometimes it can be difficult to unsubscribe, not due to the mailing list
software but due to your Internet service provider changing the mail system
address internally. Sometimes you may change an Internet service provider
yourself and have the old mail forwarded to you. In either case the mailing
list software tries to compare your address with those on record, and if
they don't match exactly then it won't allow you to unsubscribe. This keep
people from unsubscribing you without your permission, but also causes the
problem.

If this happens to you, you may want to try a little "magic" before
screaming :^) If you look in the mail headers on your postings you will see
a special one called Return-Path:. For me, on the last posting, it looked
like

Return-Path: <clair-return-353-charette=sneezy.org@-----.org>

Inside there is the address that the mailing list sent the message to - if
we take out everything to the left of charette and everying includeing the @
on the right, we'd have:

charette=sneezy.org

and if we change the = to @ we have

charette@-----. Now, if you
can't unsubscribe the "normal" way, take the address with the = sign and put
it into a special address:

clair-unsubscribe-charette=sneezy.org@-----.org

If I sent mail using that address I'd get a special message asking if I'd
like to unsubscribe. If _ you _ sent a message to that address, _ I'd _
still get the message asking me if I'd like to unsubscribe - you can't
unsubscribe me against my wishes.

All'interno di ci è l' indirizzo che la lista spedire ha trasmesso il
messaggio a - se eliminiamo tutto alla sinistra del charette ed everying
compreso @ a destra, avremmo:

charette@-----. Ora, se non
potete unsubscribe il modo " normale ", prendere l' indirizzo con = segno e
metterlo in un indirizzo speciale.

Se trasmetterà la posta usando quell' indirizzo otterrei un messaggio
speciale che chiedo se gradissi a unsubscribe. Se trasmetteste un messaggio
a quell' indirizzo, tranquillo lo otterrei al messaggio che chiedo se
gradissi a unsubscribe - non potete unsubscribe me contro i miei desideri.
